Scott Walker Book: Marc Thiessen, Former Bush Speechwriter, Teaming Up With Governor (REPORT)

Nearly a year removed from surviving a recall election, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) appears ready to write a book.

The National Review reported Monday that Walker is teaming up with former George W. Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen to pen the project. A Republican familiar with the talks told the publication that Walker "wants to do more to tell his story."

Back in June, Walker successfully deflected a wave of pro-union forces, defeating Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D) by seven percentage points. His victory resonated all the way to August's Republican National Convention, when he was serenaded by a wave of applause and cheers before speaking in Tampa, Fla.

Weeks after President Barack Obama knocked off GOP contender Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election, Walker denied that he was considering a 2016 presidential run. But he continues to be a presence at national GOP events, headed by mid-March's CPAC festivities.

"In America, people don't grow up dreaming of being dependent on the government," Walker said at CPAC. "In America, people don't come to this country as immigrants because someday they want to become dependent on the government. In America, they live the American dream."
